Abdominal Pain Dog 5-10 Years No Vomiting Not Distended

With no vomiting or abdominal distension, it is possible that the pain your dog is experiencing may actually be coming from the back. As previously noted, abdominal pain and back pain can be difficult to distinguish from one another, even at times for veterinary medical professionals. As such, it may also be wise to also make use of our back Back Pain diagnostic tool.

That stated, it is not necessarily uncommon for a dog to have a condition that causes abdominal pain without vomiting or abdominal distension. I have an almost 10 year old French Bulldog who’s chief complaint has been lethargy, decrease in overall activity, and what seems to be abdominal pain. He’s having a hard time moving; such as jumping on and off the couch and bed, and when I picked him up last night to move him over, he started crying and shaking in pain. No vomiting or diarrhea. He’s been eating and drinking, but not drinking quite as much. He moved his bowels earlier today twice but hasn’t gone again since this morning. He has a history of gastroenteritis and pancreatitis, but like I mentioned he hasn’t been vomiting. Any suggestions?

Hi Jenny, did you find out what was wrong with your dog? Did he get better? My cocker spaniel is going through the same symptoms after undergoing a 10 day antibiotics treatment for an infection. Now he’s listless and will only eat and drink if I bring it to him.

My English bulldog is waking up at night mostly with heavy breathing, this goes on for at least a half hour or more! Can you please tell me what this could be? Thank you!

My Chihuahua all of a sudden seems to have left abdominal pain. No detention, eating fine, drinking water, pee and pooh ok. Just yelps of you touch his left underbelly. Nothing there but small intestine and spleen I think.
