A skin mass that looks like this is most likely a benign (not cancerous) tumor called a basal cell tumor. The physical characteristics of this mass may also be consistent with another benign type of mass called an epthelioma. On rare occassions, masses that have physical characteristics that resemble basal cell tumors and epitheliomas can also be a malignant (cancerous) type of mass called an adenocarcinoma.
