A skin mass that looks like this is most likely a benign (not cancerous) tumor called an epithelioma. The physical characteristics of this mass may also be consistent with another benign type of mass called a basal cell tumor. On rare occassions, masses that have physical characteristics that resemble epitheliomas and basal cell tumors can also be a malignant (cancerous) type of mass called an adenocarcinoma.
