Histiocytoma Puppy

At this age, a skin mass that looks like this is most likely a benign (not cancerous) tumor called a histiocytoma. In a dog this young, skin cancer would be unusual, but since a mass with these physical characteristics may also be consistent with a malignant (cancerous) type of skin mass called a mast cell tumor, it is included in the articles below as a rare, but possible identity for the lesion in question.
