I have a Schipperke that is about 11 years old. He has recently begun to lose a lot of weight though my family and I are not sure why. He was a bit overweight, about 26 pounds, and we stopped giving him table scraps and less treats. Recently though, he has dropped down to 17 pounds, though he is still eating, drinking, and pooping just as well as he was before. He is still just as friendly and playful as before, so no real noticeable behavior changes. We have noticed him trying to eat the cat litter, not the feces, just the litter. Does anyone have any ideas?

Stopped eating. Drinks a lot of water. No food desired. Doesn’t seem in pain. Eats grass and throws up bile.
